Health Services

Mental (Behavioral) Health

Everyone reacts to stress and traumatic experiences differently. While some have reactions that can be seen as normal responses to life events, others may experience signs or symptoms of more serious conditions.

Mental health and substance use conditions can affect anyone; you are not alone. The Military Health System has many resources available to help those who need it.

If you or someone you know needs support now, call or text 988 or chat at 988Lifeline.org. 988 connects you with a trained crisis counselor who can help.

47th MDG Mental (Behavioral) Health Services

Our facility offers the following mental and behavioral health services:
  • Primary Care Behavioral Health
  • Open to all 47th MDG patients regardless of active duty status
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Individual Therapy
  • Group Therapy
  • Substance Misuse Education, Prevention, and Treatment
  • Family Advocacy Strengths-based Therapy (FAST)
  • New Parent Support Program (NPSP)

The 47th MDG offers Mental (Behavioral) Health services to active duty service members, with all other beneficiary categories being seen at the 47th MDG on a space available basis. The one exception to this policy is the Primary Care Behavioral Health Clinic. This clinic provides services to all 47th MDG beneficiaries, regardless of category. All beneficiary categories except  active duty service members will most likely be referred to the local TRICARE network for all other mental health services.

All these services can be accessed by calling the 47th MDG's appointment line at 830-298-6333. Additionally, patients can contact the chaplain's office at 830-298-5111, the Laughlin Air Force Base Military and Family Readiness Center at 830-298-5620, or Military OneSource at 1-800-342-9647.
